Working with and redesigning your existing worksheets for forecasting, budgeting, and analysis or designing a completely new concept I do it not only with thirty years knowledge of Finance and Accounting but the Excel Knowledge built over the years.
At Rapid5 Networks, I was the Director of FP&R and responsible for developing and maintaining an Excel based This forecast encompassed and consolidated the budgets for 30 departments in eight functional areas. Most recently working as a consultant I designed and wrote a program for a multinational subsidiary that needed to convert existing budget data into a new reporting format for their corporate owners. This entailed converting not only departments and accounts but splitting some accounts into one or more different accounts. When completed the entire process required clicking on four buttons. As an added feature the various lookup table are edited using special screens that do all the error checking to eliminate improper input.

For over thirty years, I have been helping companies make better use of Excel for there analysis needs. Most companies have workbooks that were designed years ago and get the job done, however the time it take their employees to load and setup the data consume to much time. My most dramatic example was taking a month end analysis of open PO's that took between a day and a day and a half to complete. After working with the Oracle download and using VBA to load the data into Excel the analysis was completed in forty-five minutes or less.

I added a special function that allowed all new hire and capital expenditures to be subject to certain company milestones. Employee and capital expenditures were dynamically reforecast just by changing the milestones dates.
