These tips are designed to help explain some of the items that I have found cause Excel users problems.   Excel is very powerful but it can be intimidating to try new things.   Give these a try if they are new to you and expand your abilities.

COUNTIF()
One of the useful but little used functions in Excel is the COUNTIF function.  The COUNTIF() is very useful and rarely used by Excel users.   This function can be used in combination with other functions in compound formulas.

Numbers in Text
This is a simple formula but I often see worksheets that include a profit or other calculated number with in the text of a statement.   The problem with this is if it is not done properly when the number changes people forget to change the fixed number in the statement.   This hint shows how to include calculated numbers in text and to make them change as the calculations change.

ISNA
As a business consultant who works heavily with Excel, one of the problems I find with spreadsheets is the infamous "#N/A" error.  Even if this does not effect other calculations, it gives the impression that the spreadsheet may have errors and is not to be trusted.

SUMIF
As a business consultant who works heavily with Excel I find many people who do not know how to use the SUMIF function.  This is a brief get you started discussion.

Combination Chart
The combination chart allows the use of two separate Axis to display Disparate data.
